The Guild, 'Of A Thousand Truths,' is an exerpt from South Park's episode, 'Make Love, Not Warcraft.' The name refers to the sword that was locked up in a Blizzard employee's drawer on a thumbdrive because it was too powerful for one player to use while in-game.
Q: What kind of guild is OATT?
We are a very laid back type of guild. Being self-sufficiant but yet having a healthy dose of lending a hand is how we'd like to continue. If you need help for a level 10 quest and all members are located far from your zone, asking is fine, but help is at the disgretion of each of the members.
Q: Does the guild have a tabard?
Yes. Trying to model after Stan's tabard, we tried to mimick the colors and design (with exception for creative license). F.Y.I : Stan's tabard is actually from the Frostwolf Faction.
Q: Does the guild do instances? Raids?
Mostly instances when needed. So far the list includes (for instances): Stockades, Deadmines (DM), Gnomeregan, Wailing Caverns (WC), Shadowfang Keep (SFK), Blackfathom Deeps (BFD), Scarlet Monestary (SM), Zul'Farak (ZF), Hellfire Ramparts and Bloodfurnace, Mana Tombs (still working up to killing the end boss). Also, raids have been known to happen from time to time, based on suggestion of location and participation of guild members.
Q: How do ranks work?
Ranks are based on level. Officer titles are reserved for the moderators of guild (i.e. the founders and their alts). Players can reach an Officer title by Moderator invite only, it will not be advertised. The ranks are as follows:
1-9.......Thumbtack
10-19....Dart
20-29....Dagger
30-39....Sword
40-49....Great Sword
50-59....Vorpal Sword
60+.......Excalibur
Q: Is there a guild bank?
Thanks to Blizzard and the fine folks of the Guild, a Guild Bank is now available. At the moment we are accepting deposits, and with the flow of generosity that has befallen upon our humble Guild Bank, we are saving up for the next bank slot. Rules for withdrawal are still being hashed out, but for now all Guild Members can view the Guild Bank (located inside the major city's bank area) but deposits are restricted to characters who are level 20 and up. When rules are set into a more concrete fashion of etiquette, they will be posted here.
Q: Does the guild have Team Speak?
Yes. Again Blizzard has enabled another helpful tool and we have team speak for Guild Members to communicate on. Instructions are located on the Main Website (Guild Portal) if you need help setting it up.
Q: Is there a code of conduct on the guild chat?
Yes, we ask that the language used on the guild chat be rated PG in content as not to degrade the quality of the guild. If swearing becomes a problem, the player will be demoted to the rank of Potty Mouth, which incurs a penalty of not being able to chat on the Guild Chat until it is deemed fitting to return to previous rank. Most importantly, vulgarity and/or crass behavior towards moderators, other guild members, etc., will not be tolerated and will warrant expulsion from the guild.
Q: So, who can join?
Anyone: all levels, all races, but ages 18+ years old (or matching maturity level)is prefered. Members who have the title Officer and higher are the only ones able to invite new members. With the recent influx of new players, this change has been posted as of 6/25/07. Since we value each member and try to uphold the quality of the guild, guild hoppers (i.e. those who have joined, left, then wanted to join again) are not widely sought after. Discretion is solely based on moderators for any changes pertaining and effecting the guild roster.
